ApiFix
ApiFix is a surgical approach to correct spinal curvature in adolescents with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. It is device implanted that gradually expands as your child’s spine grows to help straighten the curve. ApiFix is effective for children who have a curve with a Cobb angle of 35 to 60 degrees and have not yet completed bone growth.
The ApiFix procedure involves only three anchor points on one side of the spine. This treatment is less invasive and reduces the impact on soft tissue and bony anatomy and a potentially more speeding recovery. Patients are typically discharged from the hospital in 1-2 days and return to school within 2 weeks following the ApiFix procedure.
